I'm Kayden — a self-taught software developer based in Victoria, Australia, currently between roles. Ten years across software dev and analyst work, mostly in small teams where the job spans backend, frontend, data, and whatever else needs doing that week.

This blog is the after-hours stuff: small hardware projects, dashboards, and writeups of whatever I've recently soldered, printed, or wired up incorrectly. The common thread is weird display technology — VFDs, Nixie tubes, square LCDs, e-ink, segmented displays of every flavour. If a display has a strange aspect ratio, an obscure interface, or a vacuum tube inside it, I will probably want to put a microcontroller behind it.
